About the Role

As an animal caretaker at Furuviksparken, you will have a varied, responsible, and meaningful job where animal welfare, knowledge, and guest experience are at the center. You will work daily with the care of our hoofed animals and be an important ambassador for both the animals and Furuviksparken. In this role, you will combine practical animal husbandry with training, enrichment, and animal welfare, while also meeting and inspiring our guests through tours and presentations during the season. Through your engagement, you contribute to increased understanding of animals and nature – and to memories that last long with our visitors.

Your Responsibilities:

With us, you will have the opportunity to:

• Work daily with the care of hoofed animals and their facilities according to routines and guidelines.
• Feed, enrich, and train animals with a focus on welfare, safety, and natural behaviors of the species.
• Plan and carry out handling training in accordance with methods and purposes.
• Participate in preventive and curative animal care in collaboration with a veterinarian.
• Observe, document, and follow up on the animals' behaviors and health.
• Contribute to the development of working methods, routines, and animal husbandry.
• Meet guests through animal presentations, tours, and presentations – sometimes in front of a larger audience.
• Be a role model and support colleagues in daily work, as well as assist in training APL students.

You will also be an active part of Furuviksparken's sustainability work and contribute to ensuring that the operations meet all regulatory and industry requirements.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has training as an animal caretaker or in biology, zoology, agronomy, or equivalent.
• Has practical experience in animal husbandry, preferably from a zoo or working with hoofed animals.
• Enjoys both independent work and teamwork.
• Is responsible, calm, and flexible – even when the pace is high.
• Has good communication skills and enjoys meeting guests, even on stage and with a microphone.
• Has a B driver's license.

Practical Information:
