Description

The Östersund Cemetery Administration is responsible for and manages two cemeteries; the Eastern Cemetery and the Northern Cemetery. The Eastern Cemetery is located near the residential area Körfältet, where there are new coffin and urn graves, as well as a memorial grove, an urn grove, and an urn burial site. The Northern Cemetery is located along Köpmangatan, north of Östersund Hospital. The cemetery mainly consists of old family graves but also includes an urn grove.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include cemetery maintenance such as planting flowers, weeding, hedge trimming, tree pruning, and lawn mowing. Work with smaller loaders and other gardening equipment may also occur (for those who have the necessary qualifications/training for this). You are expected to work both independently and as part of a team. The work is physically demanding and therefore requires you to be in good physical condition. The work takes place outdoors regardless of the weather.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with horticultural education or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience in areas such as cemeteries, gardening/parks, and landscaping.

Experience with and certification for the machinery used in gardening and landscaping is required.

A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.

You must be at least 18 years old by the start date of employment and have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Conditions

Temporary seasonal employment (May 1 - October 31)

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM

You will be employed by the cemetery administration, which means you may work at both the Northern and Eastern Cemeteries.
