Sports Facility Caretaker for Malmö Eastern Operations Section

As a sports facility caretaker, you will work with the operation, maintenance, and care of our sports facilities. You will help create safe, well-maintained, and pleasant environments where Malmö residents can engage in their leisure activities.

Job Responsibilities

As an employee in the Malmö Southern Operations Section, you will work with many varied tasks that include the care and maintenance of the city's sports facilities in eastern Malmö. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that our premises, green areas, and activity spaces maintain a high standard so that Malmö residents and community organizations have the best conditions to carry out their activities. The work is varied and involves both independent responsibility and teamwork. At times, it can be physically demanding, which means you should enjoy working practically and outdoors.

Examples of job responsibilities:

• Maintenance of green areas, such as upkeep and care of grass and artificial turf fields as well as other activity areas, including auxiliary maintenance
• Establishing and maintaining good contact with associations and the public, as well as providing excellent service to our visitors
• Handling maintenance requests and opening and closing facilities

Working hours are scheduled. Evening and weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. To work with us, you need to have a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle. You must be able to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have basic computer skills. You have previous experience in caretaking or similar service work. It is an advantage if you also have experience in:

• Green area maintenance, such as upkeep of grass and artificial turf fields
• Maintenance of ice rinks
• Maintenance of sports areas or facilities

Education in green area maintenance or ice rink care is considered a plus. To thrive and succeed in this role, we believe you are responsible, service-oriented, and have a knack for collaboration. Since you will be meeting both community organizations and Malmö residents daily, it is important that you have a positive attitude and good communication skills. About the Workplace

The workplace – Malmö Unit

The Malmö Unit belongs to the Leisure Administration's Operations Department and includes five sections with a total of about 80 employees and five section managers. The Malmö Unit works to meet Malmö residents in the same way and with the same service throughout the city. We collaborate with various stakeholders such as community organizations, the events department, and the booking function with the goal of delivering high-quality service to everyone who uses or visits the Leisure Administration's facilities. We are now seeking a sports facility caretaker for the Malmö Unit, located in the southern operations section.
