Job Responsibilities

The Hospital in Enköping will introduce a new meal system in June 2026. We are now looking for more staff for our department kitchens. Meals in hospitals are part of medical treatment and an important patient safety issue.

The work consists of preparing and serving patient meals in the form of breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as snacks and evening meals. The dishes are prepared in an external kitchen and finalized in the department kitchens. In addition, tasks include dishwashing, ordering food, self-checks, cleaning, etc. You will serve patients who eat in the day room. Other service tasks requested by the care may occur in the position. You need to be comfortable using digital systems, accustomed to reading written instructions, and enjoy communicating with colleagues and patients.

The work is sometimes fast-paced, mostly standing and moving. The department kitchens are staffed from 06:30 to 19:00 every day of the week, all year round. You will work according to a schedule with shifts every other weekend.

To help you feel welcome and to ease your transition into your duties before your first day, we offer planned introduction with training and the opportunity to shadow experienced staff.

Your Qualifications

A completed high school education or an equivalent qualification as assessed by the employer is a requirement for the position. If you have a high school education with a focus on hotel and restaurant, cleaning, service, or care, it is an advantage. Experience in restaurant, cleaning, service, or care work is meritorious. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language and good computer skills. As the work can be physically demanding at times, you need to be in good physical condition.

We are looking for someone who is a team player but can also work independently. As a person, you are responsible and enjoy a role that includes many varied tasks. Planning and flexibly switching between different work moments and tasks feels natural to you. You strive to do careful work, where satisfied patients are the focus. Providing good service is important to you.
