We at Grand Hotell Hörnan are now looking for a manager for our bar and our evening operations in the dining room. With us, you will have a responsible role in a family-run four-star hotel where quality and personal service are in focus.

⭐ About the position

As the manager of the bar and dining room at Grand Hotell Hörnan, you have a key role with operational and overall responsibility for our bar, Room 38 - the room that cannot be booked but is open to everyone. Furthermore, you are also responsible for the evening operations in our dining room, which in the evening becomes an extension of the bar.

Your most important task is to provide the best possible service to our guests and create a pleasant environment where everyone feels welcome. The role is operational, and you will work in the bar yourself, welcoming guests and serving drinks as well as preparing simple food and snacks. At the same time, you are responsible for routines, scheduling, and ensuring that the inventory is well-stocked, attractive, and matches the guests' demands. The assignment also includes exploring new opportunities for offers, activities, and events in the bar and dining room, of course in line with the fundamental idea of the business.

Your responsibilities also include:

  • Ensuring that laws and regulations are followed and that cash handling is done correctly
  • Driving sales
  • Personnel responsibility for three part-time employees
  • Staffing and scheduling
  • Ordering and delivery of goods

The hotel is characterized by a culture without prestige where we work as a team, helping each other in daily tasks, and we are looking for someone who enjoys working in such an environment. You report to the CEO.

🎯 Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone with solid experience in the restaurant industry and with that, you have good beverage knowledge. It is an advantage if you have education relevant to the position. For the position, you must be at least 20 years old. You have leadership experience in some form with experience in managing operations within a restaurant/bar, but you do not necessarily need to have had full personnel responsibility before. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required for the position.

The position is full-time, permanent with an initial probationary period of 6 months.

🕒 The position involves evening and weekend work. The hotel is open every day of the year except during Midsummer, Christmas, and New Year's when we are closed.

Requirements

  • You must be at least 20 years old as you will be responsible for serving (according to the Alcohol Act 2010:1622 8 chap. Serving of alcoholic beverages and alcohol-like preparations 18 § Personnel)
  • Solid experience in the restaurant industry
  • Good beverage knowledge
  • Leadership experience in some form
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form

Meritorious

  • Relevant education for the position
  • Experience in personnel responsibility
