Stenungsund is at an exciting stage with the development of the center, construction of new housing, and business areas. The municipality's operations unit is facing a period of development; we have set high goals to deliver safe and passable roads and reliable water supply to create security and trust among residents. We have the prerequisites but need to recruit additional competent staff and look forward to your application.
We are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's water and sewage network – a vital function that affects all residents every day. Our operations are in a development phase where we work to strengthen collaboration between different roles and create even better structures for planning and implementation.
Water is our most important food, and we take pride in ensuring that every resident has access to clean and safe water. We also have a strong focus on sustainability and future water solutions, where we constantly seek new ways to develop and improve our operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the water operations, you will work with preventive and corrective maintenance of the municipality's water and sewage pipes. The tasks are varied and include everything from emergency interventions in case of leaks to planned maintenance work and installations.
Unlike many other construction jobs, work in municipal water requires not only practical skills but also the ability to document and search for information in our management and documentation systems. You need to be able to prepare the right documentation before a job, such as which valves need to be closed and if there are operational notes, and after the work is completed, register measurements, operational notes, and photos. This is an important part of relieving the supervisor and ensuring quality in our operations. You will work closely with our supervisor and other operational staff, often in the field where the work takes place.
Scheduled on-call duty may be included in the position after the employer deems it appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
We expect you to have relevant education in operations/construction/maintenance work within water or similar fields. You have experience in water work, construction, or other technical operations and enjoy working practically in the field. You are structured, follow routines, and have basic computer skills as well as experience working in digital systems for documentation and information retrieval.
You are solution-oriented and can handle both planned tasks and emergency interventions. Experience with machinery, welding, or pipe laying is considered an advantage. Good IT skills are also advantageous.
The position requires that you have a good ability to work independently as well as in close collaboration with other colleagues. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
A valid driver's license (B) is required for the position.
