Professional Galaxy is looking for a Strategic Purchaser on behalf of our client.

We are now seeking a Strategic Purchaser in mechanics for a consulting assignment with our client in the defense and security industry. The assignment is an important part of the client's strategic purchasing work and involves close collaboration with both internal functions and external suppliers in a technically advanced environment.

About the assignment In the role of Strategic Purchaser, you will be part of a category team responsible for the mechanical category. You will drive the strategic purchasing agenda towards key suppliers and actively work to ensure commercially optimized solutions regarding cost, quality, and technology.

The work is carried out in close cooperation with production, product development, and suppliers. You will be responsible for supplier performance, handling escalated issues, and establishing and managing supplier agreements. The role also includes participation in development projects where you drive sourcing activities and ensure commercially sound decisions.

You may also work on specific projects, for example related to strategic make-or-buy decisions or localization of supply chains in strategically important countries.

Requirements To be considered for the assignment, we see that you have:

• Experience: approximately 3–7 years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing

• Experience in mechanical procurement, particularly of machined metal components

• Good business and commercial understanding, including legal aspects

• Experience in supplier management and supplier relationships

• Experience with consignment solutions at suppliers

• Familiarity with working in process- and project-driven organizations

• Good system proficiency, for example within ERP systems, management systems, and Code of Conduct

• A proactive and independent working style as well as good collaboration skills

• Interest in – or experience of – working in a technically driven business

• Desirable with knowledge in Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or similar

• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
