About the Workplace

The mission of the Community Building Administration is to ensure that the municipality's residents have a good living environment in a long-term sustainable society.

We provide advice and information to the public and businesses, but we are also a supervisory authority within our areas of operation. VA Operations is part of the Technical Department in the Community Building Administration. In addition to VA Operations, the Technical Department also includes Waste Management and the Infrastructure Unit.

The VA Operations unit is responsible for the operation of the wastewater treatment plant in Älvängen, maintenance of the drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater pipeline networks, as well as planning and implementing necessary reinvestments.

We aim to have a robust and secure pipeline network.

VA Operations is now looking for a pipe layer, with the position located in Älvängen. Currently, 19 people work in the unit, and we have close collaboration on many issues and a very good cohesion. We focus heavily on skills supply in the unit, and there are good opportunities for development within your role.

Job Responsibilities

As a pipe layer, you will contribute to strengthening the VA unit's pipeline/network side. Since the organization is relatively small, the tasks are varied. This means that we want you to participate in:

• performing rehabilitation/renewal work on water and sewage systems.
• carrying out repairs of various kinds, for example, in case of acute leaks and sewage blockages.
• establishing new VA connections/extending existing pipeline networks.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with previous experience in similar work. It is important to be able to work both independently and in a team. Since you will often meet our municipal residents in your work, we expect you to be service-oriented and have a pleasant demeanor. Naturally, you have a driver's license, preferably with a C-category.

It is desirable that you have documented competence as a pipe layer/construction worker with experience from external pipeline work. Training such as Work on the Road, hygiene when working with water pipes, safe excavation, motor saw, and Hot Work is meritorious.

Other

On-call duty will be added to the position after a period.
