The Role of the Nurse

The work is varied and stimulating, where one day is not like the other. As a nurse, you will develop through multifaceted tasks that the broad surgical emergency care entails. We work cross-professionally and strive to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. Your work will be in close collaboration with other professions. As a nurse, your job involves planning, leading, and organizing nursing work together with the patient and other professionals.

Surgical Departments G and H is a dynamic workplace with a high pace and a good mix of new nurses and experienced staff in surgical care and nursing. We consciously work to create the best conditions for you as a newly graduated nurse with mentorship and training. There are good development opportunities within surgical care for both novice and experienced nurses with tailored training from the region and through universities. In Värnamo, there are two inpatient care units with different focuses on surgical specialties. There is also a surgical/endoscopy clinic, where patients are examined and treated within upper/lower gastroenterology, general surgery, abdominal and breast plastic surgery, and endocrinology. We also have a stoma clinic. The surgical clinic is a regional clinic with operations in Jönköping, Eksjö, and Värnamo. Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a genuine interest in people and who always has the patient in focus. We prefer that you have previous experience working in a hospital, but it is not a requirement. You thrive in a workplace where you have the opportunity to work with mixed tasks at a varied pace. Therefore, it is important to us that you are a flexible person with a pleasant demeanor and have a good ability to structure your work. We place great emphasis on qualities such as teamwork and flexibility. For us, a professional attitude, responsibility, good communication, and patient safety are always current and prioritized issues.

The positions are permanent, full-time. We use an ISP schedule where you play an important role in the schedule planning. In the interview, we will tell you more about the advantages of working in an emergency hospital that is both large and small at the same time - you can be both challenged and develop in your profession. Upon hiring, you will be assigned a mentor who will follow you during your first year with us. Throughout the year, there will be continuous assessments and evaluations.
