Field of Activity: Psychiatry
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer services to two million people in central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
The 24-hour ward 4B consists of 14 places and is aimed at patients with alcohol, drug, and/or medication dependence who need detoxification treatment or assistance in breaking the habit. Admissions occur either via the psychiatric emergency department or outpatient care, but can also be planned from the municipality's addiction units. All treatment is based on an individual care plan.
On the ward, there are doctors, nurses, caregivers, clinical pharmacists, and social workers. Based on the individual needs of the patients, we collaborate and consult with other psychiatric specialists at Akademiska sjukhuset to ensure that patients receive good care. We work based on evidence-based methods and place great importance on care development and research in addiction treatment.
The operation belongs to the section for Addiction and Neuropsychiatry, a leading section where research and development of care is prioritized. All staff have access to supervision, and we actively work to improve the working environment for our staff. We also work purposefully on improving patient care and are keen to involve and support relatives. The staff group on 4B is open, positive, secure, and competent, making it easy for new staff to join the ward.
Your Mission
As a nurse in psychiatric inpatient care, you play an important role in the team working on the patient's recovery. In collaboration with colleagues from different professions, you assess and plan the individual patient's need for support, care, and treatment. You work closely with the patient and collaborate with psychiatric outpatient care, other healthcare providers/community agencies, and relatives. You are responsible for documentation and administration of medication. Guiding students and new employees is a natural part of your duties. It is important that you have a genuine interest in working with people with psychiatric issues and that you want to help develop our operations.
Your Qualifications and Competence
You must be a licensed nurse with experience in psychiatric work. Good knowledge of Swedish is a requirement. As a person, we prefer that you are positive, driven, engaged, flexible, and solution-oriented, with the ability to prioritize among varying tasks in a changing environment, have an open view of people, and enjoy challenges. We also expect you to have a good service attitude towards both patients and colleagues as well as external actors. Specialist nurse training and previous work experience in psychiatry are advantageous but not a requirement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and your ability to fit into our team.
We Offer
We offer a part-time position. The introduction will be tailored to your needs, and a stimulating work environment awaits where no day is the same. The work on the ward gives you a broad insight into various psychiatric conditions.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
