What We Offer
We are in an exciting phase of building the Volvo Cars Torslanda Battery Assembly Plant, where we are creating a strong team to develop future manufacturing processes for our next generation of electric cars. Our task is to work together with other teams and functions to develop and secure the best possible processes for our upcoming Battery Factory.
You will have a unique opportunity to be involved at an early stage where we set the tone for the next chapter in our company history by designing work methods, processes, and building a strong team.
Until production starts in 2026, you will work in a project phase. Here you will be part of the operational team that builds our first batteries. You will develop your knowledge while contributing to identifying improvements and deviations during the construction process.
What You Will Work With
As an operator in the Battery Factory, you will build components on the assembly line. The assemblies involve the construction of various components on different sections of the line, utilizing everyone's experience and knowledge in the best possible way. You will be a member of a team that, at the start of production, will consist of 5-8 team members. Each team has overall responsibility for quality, economy, delivery, and team development.
It is worth noting that during the project phase, we will work across boundaries and contribute to ensuring safety, training, quality, delivery, cleaning improvements, deviation management, and the setup of our stations, etc., to be production-ready.
Working Hours:
This position is scheduled for daytime/evening/night shifts. Until production starts, everyone will work in the project phase during the day.
Who You Are and Your Competencies
We are looking for someone with previous industrial experience or experience from other physically demanding work, as well as approved grades at the high school level in Swedish 1/A, Mathematics 1/A, English 5/A, and Social Studies 1/A. We also see that you have knowledge of Andon, 5S, Visual Management, and basic problem-solving.
You need to have good knowledge of both English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
As a person, we see that you collaborate to build partnerships and forms of cooperation with others to achieve common goals, as well as build trust and confidence by being honest and having high integrity. You thrive in a job that is event-driven, are used to reprioritizing, and easily adapt to different situations that arise. We see that you have a technical interest and enjoy working with your hands. You can take initiative and are motivated by development.
In this role, it is important that you are safety-oriented, act as a role model, and hold others accountable if you notice that safety is at risk. Furthermore, we see that you are engaged and responsible in your role, as well as for the battery process.
