Job Advertisement: Nurse for the ADHD Program

The University Clinic Psychiatry Sydväst is driven by the vision of providing the best psychiatric care in Sweden. We are part of SLSO psychiatry and have extensive collaboration with Karolinska Institute. The clinic is characterized by research, innovation, and continuous development. Psychiatry Sydväst is located in Flemingsberg at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge.

Description

The ADHD program is a relatively young clinic that started in 2022 and treats adult patients with ADHD without the need for other specialist psychiatric care. We constantly strive to improve our operations and run several development projects. Digitalization and increasing our patients' engagement in their care are two themes we are currently focusing on. The clinic consists of about 25 employees, including 7 nurses, who collaborate in teams. For the benefit of our patients and ourselves, we support each other in our daily work, both between and within professional categories. We are now looking for two nurses who want to share this community and continue to develop the clinic with us.

Responsibilities

The work as a nurse at the clinic involves patient work in close collaboration with the clinic's medical staff, other nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists. You will have scheduled patient visits on-site but also communicate with patients through other media. You will work almost daily with telephone advice and patient contacts via 1177.se and Alltid Öppet. As a nurse, you will primarily work with the medical treatment of ADHD under the delegation of a specialist physician. The work thus requires a good ability to independently assess care needs and evaluate ongoing treatment in accordance with the unit's guidelines. Participation in regular care conferences and the opportunity for daily reviews with specialist physicians and nursing colleagues, several of whom have specialist competence, enables ongoing internal training. There are also good opportunities to engage in development work at the clinic based on your own interests.

Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse, and we prefer that you have work experience in psychiatric care. It is advantageous if you have specialist training in psychiatry. Previous experience with patients with neuropsychiatric issues is also very valuable. Experience with supportive care systems such as TakeCare, TeleQ, 1177.se, Lifecare, and Alltid Öppet is valued.

We Offer

As an employee of SLSO, you have benefits such as free healthcare, additional compensation during parental leave, the possibility of salary exchange, pension agreements, and insurance. We apply flexible working hours and offer 5000 SEK/year in wellness benefits. The position will be filled provided that it is not needed for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area: a background check will be applied before the hiring decision according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks at hiring. Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment. In addition to Swedish professional licensing, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.

Stockholm County's healthcare area (SLSO) is one of Sweden's largest healthcare providers with 11,600 employees. We offer health and medical care in the Stockholm Region within psychiatry, primary care, geriatrics, ASIH, urgent care, somatic specialist care, habilitation, and health as well as assistive devices. In collaboration with Karolinska Institute, we conduct research, education, and development.
