Our Operations

The Emergency Department at Akademiska sjukhuset receives approximately 55,000 visits annually. The emergency department is open around the clock and has the mission to provide specialized care for acutely seriously ill or injured patients. We work in teams and therefore value good collaboration and professional treatment of both patients and colleagues. Your Mission

As a nursing assistant, you will perform nursing tasks and be responsible for basic care. You will work in a team alongside nurses and doctors. You will also perform medical technical tasks such as monitoring vital parameters, EKG, venipuncture, catheter insertion, and assist doctors with various procedures and examinations. In the emergency department, we handle reasons for seeking care within several medical specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, and orthopedics.

Your Qualifications

For the summer of 2026, we are looking for you who are a nursing student or a medical student. As a nursing student, you should have completed semester 3, and as a medical student, semester 6. Previous experience in nursing within somatic care is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, where qualities such as being secure, empathetic, good at communicating, and having the ability to collaborate are highly valued. We Offer

Hourly paid employment as a nursing assistant with at least 7 weeks of full-time work scheduled during the summer of 2026. Rotating position. Start date according to agreement. Recruitment is ongoing.

You will receive an introduction with training and guidance in patient-related work. Training will be applied during the spring. The theoretical introduction of the emergency department is scheduled for week 24 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This part of the introduction is mandatory.
