Graveyard Worker – Seasonal Employee

The Stockholm Cemetery Administration is responsible for burial services in Stockholm. The Cemetery Administration conducts burial and service operations with high ethical standards and is responsible for 12 cemeteries, 13 chapels, a ceremony building, and 2 crematoria with significant cultural and historical values.

The Stockholm City Cemetery Administration – Northern Unit is seeking graveyard workers.

The Northern Unit includes the Northern Cemetery in Solna.

From April to November, the needs at our cemeteries around Stockholm increase. Therefore, we now need to strengthen our team with seasonal employees.

The seasonal employment is 100%, from April to September. Depending on the season, an extension may occur.

Job Responsibilities

Your main job responsibilities as a graveyard worker will consist of working with gardening. This includes tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, replenishing soil, hedge trimming, planting, and watering flowers and plants at graves, as well as leaf clearing in our various green areas, etc. If necessary, you may also perform minor landscaping work and participate in grave openings and restorations.

The work is physically demanding, and we work outdoors regardless of the weather.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is at least 18 years old
• Experience in park work and burial services is an advantage
• Has experience handling gardening tools/equipment
• Has an AM or B driver's license
• Has education in gardening/landscape maintenance

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and takes great personal responsibility. You have good teamwork skills and demonstrate good judgment in interactions with colleagues and the public. You are resilient and able to work in a structured manner.
