Service Technician at Lerum Municipality

The Operations and Maintenance Unit is part of the Property and Investment business area. The unit consists of a unit manager and about 20 employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a service technician, you play a central role in ensuring a safe, secure, and functional environment for both our tenants and staff.

You are responsible for the daily maintenance of the property and common areas, as well as helping to create a pleasant and safe environment for residents and visitors.

Your main tasks include:

• Performing ongoing repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment such as doors, windows, furniture, and common areas.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with lighting, electrical installations, and HVAC systems (heating, water, ventilation, and drainage).
• Ensuring safety by checking and maintaining fire alarms, fire doors, emergency exits, and other safety equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and promptly addressing potential safety risks, especially in the common areas of the residence.
• Assisting in transporting furniture, equipment, and other items between different departments or rooms of the property, for example during rearrangements or when moving residents, as well as helping with other practical tasks that facilitate for residents and staff.
• Responsible for snow removal, ice prevention, and ensuring that the areas close to the residence's doors are safe to walk on during the winter months.
• Working with a preventive maintenance program to ensure that the building's technical systems function efficiently and that all repairs are made in a timely manner.
• Working closely with the staff to identify and address any risks in the common areas of the residence that may affect tenants.
• Keeping ongoing documentation of completed work and maintenance and reporting any deficiencies or needs to the responsible manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have experience in property technology (electricity, plumbing, and/or other technical systems) and a B driver's license, as well as a completed high school education. Experience working in elderly care, within healthcare or similar environments is an advantage.

The position requires you to have a good ability to troubleshoot and quickly resolve issues to minimize downtime or safety risks.
