As a custodian at Nils Holgersson Education Center NHUC, you will be a key person in ensuring that everyday life runs smoothly for students and staff. Here, you can expect varied tasks – from practical repairs and services to creating a safe and pleasant environment in our schools, boarding houses, and school farms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a custodian for Nils Holgersson Education Center NHUC.

With us, you will play a central role in keeping everyday life going in our various operations: high school, adult education, adapted high school, boarding school, and school farm.

The tasks are varied and include minor repairs and installations, such as changing light sources and fixtures, assembling loose furniture for the operations, etc. It may also involve moving furniture and computers, waste management, litter rounds, as well as snow removal and ice control. The position also includes maintenance of green areas and hedges. You will handle the school's internal fault reports, and some of the cases are managed by Skurup's Home or an appointed supplier, and you will be the one maintaining contact.

An important part of the job is also that you are responsible for the fire safety of the operations and ensure that fire-fighting equipment is checked regularly.

The work may sometimes involve inconvenient working hours, for example, during snow removal, open houses, or cow releases, but this is also part of the dynamic everyday life with us.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has at least a high school education and experience working as a custodian or in a similar role. A B driver's license and a certificate for a wheel loader are required. Additionally, the custodian position requires you to be generally knowledgeable in repair and maintenance, proactive, and solution-focused.

Since you will be interacting daily with both young people, colleagues, and external contacts, it is important that you have good collaboration skills and a service-oriented approach. You are flexible, can adapt to changes, and have a genuine desire to help others. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Good computer skills are required as fault reporting systems and, for example, lock management systems are handled within the position. Experience with the RCO access control system is also an advantage.
