We at Dalarna's Assistive Device Center, Technical Service department, are looking for an Assistive Device Technician who will take on the role of team leader for our two teams: the Ceiling Lift Team and External Service. Technical Service operates throughout Dalarna with 21 dedicated employees. Every day, our technician buses depart from Avesta, Borlänge, Falun, Ludvika, and Mora to provide service to our citizens. We are looking for someone who is administrative, driven, and coaching and who wants to contribute to job satisfaction, well-being, and effective working methods.

Assistive Device Technician/Team Leader, Dalarna's Assistive Device Center, Technical Service Job Responsibilities

As an assistive device technician, you will work with inspection, delivery/pick-up, preventive and corrective maintenance of various types of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, beds, patient lifts, and other medical technology products. You will play an important role in ensuring that our customers in homes, schools, and special housing receive the right delivery of assistive devices and that these function safely and optimally. The work is varied and diverse and requires good physical ability as heavy lifting occurs. We work closely with people in their daily lives and follow them throughout their life cycle, which makes approachability, responsiveness, and engagement crucial qualities.

As a team leader, you will have a central role and lead our two teams' employees in their daily work. You are responsible for ensuring that tasks are carried out efficiently and that the teams achieve their goals. You act as an important link between employees, department heads, and other functions within the organization. The technicians work throughout Dalarna and have a significant responsibility for their respective geographical areas - your task is to be the "spider in the web," creating structure, clarity, and a calm working environment in the group. Part of the assignment is to support the technicians administratively, i.e., assist in our operational system, plan resources, hold meetings, and help coordinate incoming jobs. To provide effective support in daily work, good knowledge of MS365 is required. Your primary employment will be as an assistive device technician. In addition, you will receive a time-limited team leader appointment for three years. The role of team leader does not involve personnel responsibility but is about supporting the team and developing working methods.

Your main tasks will primarily consist of:

  • Repair, service, and maintenance of assistive devices as well as handling deliveries
  • Lead and coach the operational work, allocate resources, and ensure routines
  • Support the team in technical questions and priorities and contribute to the development of working methods
  • Administrative support in the operational system and participate in and lead team meetings
  • Ensure competence and a safe working environment for the technicians
Additional InformationQualifications

Requirements:

  • Technical high school education or equivalent education/experience deemed equivalent.
  • Experience in technical work, preferably as a service technician or in repair
  • Driver's license (manual transmission)
  • Good knowledge and experience of working in MS 365.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with medical technology products or assistive devices.
  • Knowledge in mechanics, electronics, or workshop technology.
  • Education in assistive device technology, ergonomics, or materials science.
  • Experience with and use of the operational system Sesam2.
  • Experience in leadership
