Captain for Free-Running Ferry Summer 2026

Are you passionate about safe and environmentally friendly shipping like we are? Are you an initiative-taking, open, and communicative person with a high degree of service orientation? We are now looking for dedicated staff for our yellow ferries - be part of making Sweden closer. The ferry company is undergoing a transformation towards electrification, climate adaptation, automation, and digitalization, where you will be an important part of this journey. We are currently seeking captains for summer service on our ferry routes across Sweden.

The position includes standard captain duties. As a captain, you have reporting responsibilities in the event of incidents, accidents, and other deviations. You are also responsible for ensuring that the ferry is seaworthy and properly manned.

We are looking for employees throughout the country but will conduct interviews in the following locations:

Stockholm: February 2, February 10, February 19, March 3, and March 5.

Härnösand: February 5

Gothenburg: February 12 and February 17

Jönköping: February 25 and February 26

If you cannot meet us in person, interviews can alternatively be conducted digitally.

Our free-running ferries have a two-person crew, and you will work closely with the engineer/mate, which requires a high degree of collaboration skills. Onboard the ferry, you are also our face to the public, which requires a high degree of service orientation. With an analytical problem-solving ability, you see what needs to be done and act accordingly.

You are motivated by an active employee role where you take responsibility for your tasks in a purposeful manner while being aware of how you are part of and contribute to the whole by collaborating with others.

We are looking for someone who

• holds at least a Class VI inland vessel certificate, engine officer B degree, or Class VIII officer certificate
• has a valid special qualification in crisis management (CCM) according to STCW Manila
• has completed basic safety training according to STCW Manila
• has a valid medical certificate for seafarers with deck service, at least inland
• holds at least an SRC certificate
• is experienced in using digital tools and support systems
• speaks and writes Swedish fluently
• has Swedish/Nordic/Swiss/EU citizenship

It is advantageous if you

• hold at least a Class III certificate
• have higher qualifications/training or other experience that we consider relevant
• have experience working on road ferries
