JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work is varied and creative in Karlskrona Municipality's different outdoor environments. As an employee in the Street/Park department, you will help create a sustainable and green future for Karlskrona. Your work contributes to the well-being and recreational opportunities for everyone who lives in and visits Karlskrona.

Your tasks include the daily operations within the assigned area of responsibility, maintenance of green areas and parkland, flower arrangements, waste management, weed control, and more. You will be part of a work team, while also performing independent work.

You will also be part of the municipality's preparedness for streets and roads, both in winter and summer. Work in other teams within the street/park department may also be relevant during certain periods.

Together with your colleagues, you are the department's face to the public as you carry out your daily work among the residents of Karlskrona and contribute to the goal of "a more attractive Karlskrona". You are a good ambassador for the department, and we have high expectations for your service mindset and flexibility in meeting others.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

• At least a two-year horticulture education or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Experience in park work from previous employment.
• Familiarity with handling green area machinery and machine knowledge.
• Chainsaw A and Brushcutter certification are required. Chainsaw B is an asset.
• It is an asset if you have a C driver's license and other driving license qualifications, green card, work on the road, and arborist training.
• Good physical condition is a requirement as it is a prerequisite for sustainability in the profession.
