You will belong to the business unit Saab Aeronautics. Aeronautics offers aviation-related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aircraft structures, and services to defense customers and the civil aviation industry worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for the development, production, marketing, sales, and support of the Gripen system. Your work area will encompass the machine shop at Saab in Linköping. Your Responsibilities The machine shop currently runs about 3000 different parts for, among other things, the Gripen fighter jet, with sizes ranging from a few centimeters to larger pieces. The department currently has about 50 employees, and the workgroup collaborates closely in goal-oriented teams and 5S. Your tasks as a CNC operator will include:

• Operating and monitoring milling machines in the Siemens control system.
• Ensuring that ordered jobs and tools are available for the machines.
• Inspecting parts that have been machined and performing daily maintenance on the machines.
• Internal contacts for problem-solving with adjacent departments.

The workplace is in Tannefors, Linköping, and working hours can be arranged according to 2-shift, hybrid shift, or night shift based on operational needs.

Your Profile

Requirements for the position:

• Technical education or industrial experience as a CNC operator in milling.
• Knowledge of reading technical drawings.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Good computer skills.

Desirable qualifications for the position:

• Knowledge of Siemens control systems
• Experience in machine handling, processing, and precision technology.
• Experience in self-inspection.
• Knowledge of the IFS business system

With the varied tasks that the position entails, it is required that you as a person are flexible, engaged, and unpretentious. You are responsible, cooperative, and have good communication skills as the work involves continuous contact with various colleagues. The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for specific citizenship.

Application Procedure This is a consulting assignment initially for 6 months with a chance of extension or direct employment at Saab after a period of hiring. Start is immediate or by agreement. Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
