- Project Assistant at Bufff Sweden
Project Assistant at Bufff Sweden
Bufff SverigeStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
Bufff Sweden is a national children's rights organization that supports children and young people with a relative who is deprived of liberty. Our work is based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and aims to ensure that children are seen, heard, and receive the support they are entitled to. We work with the entire family – both the imprisoned family member and the relatives remaining on the outside – to strengthen relationships, create security, and ensure that children's needs are at the center, regardless of whether their parent, sibling, or they themselves are deprived of liberty.
We are now looking for a project assistant for a three-year project funded by the Legacy Fund, where Bufff will develop a new working method to strengthen support for children placed in LSU and their families.
Regardless of whether the children will come into contact with SIS or the Prison Service in the future, they and their relatives should be met with a cohesive, long-term, and child-centered support. The project assistant plays an important role in carrying out the project's surveys, support materials, and methods in close collaboration with the project manager.
About the position
As a project assistant, you will work operationally in the project and support the project manager in the implementation of all parts. You will have a lot of contact with children, relatives, and staff at SIS homes, and you will actively participate in mapping, developing materials, and testing methods.
The position is suitable for you who want a combination of practical development work, contact with the target group, and documentation.
Examples of tasks:
- Participate in and conduct interviews with children, siblings, relatives, and professionals
- Conduct surveys and compile results
- Support the project manager in mapping, analysis, and documentation
- Participate in reference groups and working meetings
- Contribute to the development of methodological materials, tools, and support measures
- Test materials and methods in collaboration with SIS and Bufff's family supporters
- Contribute to reports, educational materials, and communication
- Participate in knowledge dissemination and in planning the final conference
Qualifications
To thrive in the role, you need to have a genuine commitment to children's rights issues and a good ability to meet children and families in vulnerable situations. You need to be flexible, relationship-building, and able to work both independently and in close collaboration with others.
Requirements
- Relevant education or experience in social work, behavioral science, pedagogy, or similar
- Experience in meeting children or young people in vulnerable life situations
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in documentation and administrative tasks
- Ability to work in a structured and ethical manner
- Good collaboration skills and confidence in meeting different actors
Meritorious
- Experience working within SIS, the Prison Service, or social services
- Experience working with children/young people deprived of liberty
- Experience in interviews, surveys, or analytical work
- Knowledge of child-centered conversations
- Experience with civil society organizations
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who is attentive, warm, and secure in interactions with both children, families, and professionals. You are structured, responsible, and enjoy working in a project where tasks vary over time. You have a strong commitment to children's rights and understand the importance of building trust in complex contexts.
We offer
A meaningful and important role in a national development project where you have the opportunity to make a concrete difference for vulnerable children and their families. With us, you will be part of an engaged children's rights team and work closely with both SIS and the Prison Service in developing long-term and child-centered support. The work is varied and developing, with great flexibility and plenty of room for your own initiatives. You will be part of a workplace with a strong value base and long experience in meeting and supporting the target group, and where we naturally offer collective agreements and secure employment conditions.
