The IT department of the Police Authority has over 1300 employees who together manage the operation, maintenance, and development of IT support for the authority's various areas of operation and 40,000 employees. Our office is located in Kungsholmen where we offer both flexible office space and flexible working hours. There is an opportunity to work from home 2 days a week.

The Development Support group is responsible for development and CI/CD tools and supports development projects, ensuring they use development tools effectively and follow existing guidelines.

Job Description

We are now starting the construction of the next generation development environment at the police. We will increase the degree of automation while also raising both security and quality. It should be easy to develop with us, and the time for a development team to get started should be short.

A workday in the Development Support group may involve:

  • Participating in workshops where we discuss needs and new functionalities
  • Development, design, and integration of new applications
  • Close collaboration with other technical groups within IT to translate knowledge into technical solutions that support the police in their mission
  • Developing tools for orchestration and automation of installations and configuration of our IT environment and servers

It is important for this position to have several years of experience in development and also understand how infrastructure is managed in large environments where multiple technical groups are involved. We want you to have both experience and a strong interest in IT automation.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Several years of recent experience in system development, e.g., Java or Python, which the employer assesses as relevant for the position
  • Several years of recent experience with development tools and CI/CD tools
  • Several years of recent experience with GitOps
  • Several years of recent experience with container technology (e.g., Openshift, Docker, or Podman)
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

The employment requires Swedish citizenship.

It is advantageous if you also have several years of recent experience in:

  • Automation of IT infrastructure
  • Networking/routing/DNS
  • IT security and authentication (e.g., certificates, OAuth, SAML)
  • Large IT environments with high demands for stability and security that the employer assesses as relevant for the position

Personal qualities:

We expect you to have a good ability to work independently while your ability to take initiative and guide others is crucial for continuously driving development forward. You contribute to creating a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing, where we strive to constantly improve our processes and technical solutions. Finally, we would like you to have good communication skills as the role may involve several different contact points.
