RESPONSIBILITIES

As Head of Administration, you have overall responsibility for the educational administration. You lead the work together with heads of high school, primary school, preschool, and staff, and translate the goals and budget of the school board and high school board into reality. Your mission is to create the best possible conditions for learning and development today and for the future.

In this role, you will lead and develop the educational administration with a focus on quality, equity, and results. As Head of Administration, you play a central role in the municipality's management team and work towards Borlänge's overall development. You have management responsibility for school leaders and other key personnel within the educational administration. You collaborate with politics, prepare matters, and are a key person in the dialogue with the school board and high school board. You build good relationships with employees, trade unions, students, guardians, and community actors. You are responsible for finances, personnel, and working environment within the administration. As Head of Administration, you report to the municipal director and are part of the municipality's management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a secure and inspiring leader with a genuine commitment to the role of education in society. You have relevant academic education, for example, in pedagogy, political science, or another social science field, as well as several years of experience as a senior manager. You have documented experience in strategic and operational leadership, a deep understanding of politically governed organizations, and the interplay between politics and the civil service. You have good insight into the Education Act and other relevant legislation, as well as solid experience from the world of education, including preschool, primary school, high school, and/or adult education.

You have the ability to see the big picture and contribute to the municipality's development, excellent communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish, and experience in finance, working environment, and quality work with good results. A B driver's license is required. It is an advantage if you have leadership experience from a larger municipality and experience in significant change and development work with documented results.

As a person, you thrive in a dynamic and changing environment where you can quickly prioritize and plan based on current needs. You are confident in your leadership and find it easy to collaborate both within and outside the organization. Your leadership is characterized by engagement, clarity, and a coaching approach that develops both people and operations. You are communicative, trustworthy, and have the ability to see the big picture, think strategically, and at the same time understand the everyday challenges in the educational environment.

The position is classified in a security class, which means that the position can be taken up provided that the security clearance is approved. The security clearance includes a background check and possible security interview in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. For the position, you will be permanently employed in a basic position with a 4-year appointment.
