Cemetery Manager

Do you dream of a managerial position where you can also work practically in the cemetery? Would you like to work with other employees to develop the work at the cemetery towards increased ecological sustainability? Then this could be something for you!

Ludvika Parish, located in southern Dalarna with good communications to cities such as Falun, Örebro, and Västerås. Ludvika is the center of what is called Västerbergslagen and offers beautiful nature with opportunities for recreational activities in forests and fields. With a focus on energy transition, Hitachi Energy AB attracts people from all over the world, enriching Ludvika with many cultures and languages.

The new cemetery manager will lead a number of church caretakers,

1 gardener, several seasonal workers, and summer interns. The cemetery administration actively works on development projects. Ash burial sites and urn graves are becoming increasingly popular, and we are already planning to establish more.

For Ludvika Parish, environmental and sustainability work is a given, and in 2022 we were awarded the County Administrative Board's prize – the Dalapilot of the Year. This is reflected in various course activities. The local sustainability work also significantly applies to our cemeteries, where we work with more electric vehicles and alternative maintenance methods for grass areas.

We have two cemeteries, one larger, Lyvikens Cemetery, and one smaller, the Old Cemetery. These are two very well-maintained cemeteries that are appreciated and well-visited by the people of Ludvika. Hay meadows and lawns exist side by side.

CONTENT:

• Management of the cemeteries. You will have the support of an operations manager, gardener, and many skilled caretakers and seasonal workers.

• Budget responsibility

• Personnel responsibility for staff at the cemeteries

• Practical work at the cemeteries

• Follow up, evaluate, and develop operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• You need to have clear leadership qualities, and great importance is placed on abilities such as clarity in communication, decision-making ability, and constructive conflict management.

• Gardening education or experience from work in a cemetery/garden

• Knowledge of work environment

• Driver's license B

The position is a permanent position at 100% (Probationary employment may occur)
