Cost Engineer Wanted at Lagans Byggnads in Halmstad

Lagans Byggnads is in an expansive phase and has recently established an office in Halmstad. To meet the high demand for construction contracts in the region, they are now looking for an experienced cost engineer who wants to be involved from the beginning and help build the cost estimation function together with engaged colleagues.

About the Position

As a cost engineer in Halmstad, you will have overall responsibility for preparing cost estimates and bids for construction contracts of varying sizes and complexity, often between 50 and 350 million SEK. The work is carried out in the Bidcon cost estimation system and encompasses the entire cost estimation process, from analyzing incoming request for proposals, preparing cost estimates and bids, to obtaining prices from suppliers and subcontractors.

The Role

The role is a key function for Lagans Byggnads' continued expansion and has a central significance for the business. You will work closely with area managers, project managers, and purchasers, contributing with decision-making material that forms the basis for the company's bids and project priorities. It is a role with significant responsibility, where accuracy, business acumen, and understanding of the construction process are crucial.

Collaboration

For larger projects, the work is done in close collaboration with colleagues from different parts of the organization. Within the company, there is a broad competence in cost estimation, project planning, purchasing, and more, and there are established methods for collaborating and sharing experiences in connection with larger bids. The work takes place in an environment that combines local responsibility with access to the group's collective expertise. In addition to the operational cost estimation work, the role is expected to contribute to further developing and refining methods, processes, and routines within the cost estimation function.

About You

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in cost estimation work within construction-focused building, preferably from total contracts and projects in the size range of 50–350 million SEK. You have worked independently with extensive and complex cost estimation processes, from early analyses to finished bids and are accustomed to making qualified assessments.

You have an education as a construction engineer, civil engineer, or equivalent experience, and good familiarity with cost estimation systems such as Bidcon or equivalent tools. Experience with contact with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients in bidding processes is a natural part of your daily work.
