The Railway Unit located in Jönköping and Linköping is looking for an engaged project engineer who wants to contribute to making the unit the best within Investment at the Swedish Transport Administration. We believe in improving operations by focusing on our core mission - delivering projects on time, within budget, and with the right content. To achieve this, we have clear and measurable goals that create successful projects and a work environment that constantly challenges and develops.

As a project engineer, you are an important part of the project management team and support project managers in planning, administration, and follow-up of investment projects. You contribute to structure, continuity, and predictability in the projects. You are responsible for ensuring that projects adhere to schedules, budgets, and quality requirements. Additionally, you manage risks and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to drive projects forward in an effective and structured manner.

Your responsibilities include, among others;

  • Supporting project managers with planning, administration, and follow-up of time, cost, content, and resources
  • Conducting ongoing financial follow-up and budget management
  • Being responsible for risk management, quality control, as well as safety, environmental, and workplace issues
  • Participating in procurements, project, and construction meetings
  • Managing contract content and agreements for consultancy assignments and contracts
  • Preparing documentation for monitoring contractors' deliveries
  • Assisting with internal and external contacts within the project

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our processes by sharing experiences and providing improvement suggestions. We continuously work to strengthen our way of working and encourage innovative thinking. We offer support to develop in the role, for example through mentorship, training, and experience exchange with colleagues.

With us, you work with colleagues and various stakeholders, all with their knowledge and experience, to create sustainable transport solutions.

At the Swedish Transport Administration, we work to bring Sweden closer. We believe that a combination of different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives is the best foundation for building a workplace free from discrimination and an environment where everyone thrives and does their best.
