Editor-in-Chief for Norrköpings Tidningar
Are you a driven editorial leader who wants to help shape the future of one of Sweden's most historic newspapers? Norrköpings Tidningar is now looking for an editor-in-chief who wants to develop local journalism.
Norrköpings Tidningar combines agenda-setting journalism with quick coverage of events. We succeed in creating journalism that makes a difference for people, have developed our work in covering what happens, and have taken significant steps in new publishing formats. We are now seeking an editor-in-chief and responsible publisher who will actively and inspiringly lead Norrköpings Tidningar's continued editorial work. You are passionate about free speech, see the importance of local journalism, and know how to engage readers - and you want to work closely with your colleagues to succeed in this.
Your mission includes:
- Leading the editorial work both strategically and operationally towards set goals.
- Being the responsible publisher.
- Ensuring that the content is of high quality and relevant to our users.
- Using our publishing strategies to develop content for users.
- Representing Norrköpings Tidningar in external contexts.
- Having personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility.
Within the editorial team, there are currently departments for sports, news, investigative journalism, and we have editorial offices in Norrköping, Finspång, Söderköping, and Valdemarsvik. We publish in audio, video, images, and text primarily adapted for digital publishing. We act based on the analysis of reader behavior both in strategies and in direct news situations.
In the editorial team, you will work with experienced and curious colleagues and managers who are passionate about engaging their readers across all channels.
As editor-in-chief, you will also be responsible for NTM Desk, where four positions monitor a larger coverage area for several of NTM's titles, primarily during evenings and nights.
Collaboration within the group
Within NTM, there are 16 titles with a wide geographical spread, from Norrbotten to Småland and over to Gotland. One of NTM's strengths is working together to inspire each other and create internal synergies - and you will benefit from this as editor-in-chief.
To succeed in this role, we see that you are a clear leader. You are goal-oriented and results-driven, have a good ability to build relationships, spread engagement, and are clear about the direction of the organization.
You are a confident publisher.
You have extensive experience in journalistic work in a leadership position.
You have documented leadership skills and experience in driving change.
You have a good understanding of the media landscape's development.
We are a values-driven group that strives for equality and diversity and therefore values applicants with different backgrounds and experiences.
To ensure a safe and secure workplace, we conduct background checks on selected candidates as part of our recruitment process.
Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
For questions, please contact the recruiting manager Nils Olauson at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).
