Special Logistics Group (SLG)

is the operational logistics resource within the Swedish Armed Forces Special Operations Forces (FMSF) with tasks in areas such as logistics management, host nation support, supply chain management, transport services, and technical services at operational and tactical levels. SLG is also developing capabilities in unmanned systems for FMSF logistics needs. SLG operates across the entire conflict spectrum with both national and international missions alongside other parts of FMSF. SLG has representation in both Örebro and Skövde.

Main Responsibilities

As a second pilot/technician on logistics-UAV at SLG, you will work in a changing environment where material and method development is initially the focus. Your primary role is to support the UAV pilot throughout the entire chain from mission planning and preparation to execution and post-mission analysis. You will also have significant responsibility for corrective and preventive maintenance. You should also be able to conduct flight missions to support or replace the UAV pilot. In the long term, once your unit is established, you will operate during both missions and exercises in Sweden and abroad. Flexibility and precision combined with a good technical understanding are prerequisites for achieving expected results.

After the selection process, you will initially undergo a training phase for several months before joining one of our operational units.

Qualifications

  • completed basic training/ conscription/ GMU at the time of employment
  • preliminary grades accepted at the time of application
  • driver's license B
  • Swedish citizenship

Medical Requirements

  • no serious allergies
  • no diseases requiring continuous or recurring medication/treatment
  • no need for medication that could affect the performance of the duties or lead to acute deterioration in health
  • good vision regarding color, glare, darkness, and strabismus
  • good visual acuity, correction allowed
  • meet hearing requirements for sensitive radio traffic

Meritorious

  • previous service in a UAV unit
  • previous service in a logistics unit
  • previous service in the technical service branch
  • previous service as a communications technician/system technician or equivalent
  • driver's license or military driver's certificate for heavy vehicles
  • completed international mission
  • good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

Personal Qualities

Selection

Those deemed suitable after the application process will be invited to selection tests. The selection tests are divided into two parts and will take place over a total of about seven days at the end of March and in April 2026. The first part is a field-based component lasting three days. Those deemed suitable after the first part will be invited to a second part where primarily the personal, psychological, and medical profiles are tested. Information about working hours, travel, and equipment will be provided in connection with a possible invitation to the selection test.

Other

The position is full-time, permanent, with a start date of 2026-08-01 and training beginning on 2026-08-03. The position involves recurring business trips both domestically and internationally.

Work location Örebro or Skövde.
