Eltel is looking for a Fiber Technician

Eltel is now seeking an engaged fiber technician who wants to help build tomorrow's communication networks. At Eltel, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology in fiber optics and contribute to creating robust and high-performance networks for people across the country. You will initially work as a consultant through Academic Work and transition to employment with Eltel after 6 months!

ABOUT THE POSITION

Eltel works with planning, building, connecting, and maintaining communication networks. This is done on behalf of operators, network owners, authorities, and government agencies. As a leader in the development of the infrastructure network industry, Eltel is proud to create value for its customers and society at large by combining knowledge and expertise with a practical approach to work.

Eltel is now looking for a fiber technician/splicer to join its team to continue expanding the communication network in Sweden. You will work closely with another technician to support each other in the work and contribute the best possible solution for each project. You will be offered a significant amount of responsibility and collaborate closely with other technicians, designers, and project managers.

The position is security classified, which means that a security clearance, including a background check, will be conducted in connection with employment (in accordance with Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Security Protection Act). Read more about what a security clearance entails here (#).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Tasks

• Perform fiber splicing and joining of fiber optic cables in various environments.
• Blowing and pulling of fiber cables.
• Conduct measurements, troubleshooting, and verification of fiber links.
• Installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
• Responsible for documentation of completed installations and measurement protocols.
• Contribute to the commissioning and maintenance of new and existing fiber networks.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has a high school diploma, preferably in electrical or technical fields
• Has previous experience with fiber, low voltage, or similar
• Has a B driver's license with a manual transmission.
• Has excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Is flexible to work in other locations as needed and night shifts

It is an advantage if you have

• Certification as a fiber technician or similar.
• Experience working at heights and with aerial lifts.
• Training in work on roads.
