Do you want to be part of ensuring that Region Gotland has high availability and security?

The IT Infrastructure unit at the Digitalization Department is now looking for a systems technician with a focus on networking.

Currently, over 20 employees work in the unit, providing network and server operations for all of the region's activities.

Your Responsibilities

You will primarily work with the operation and development of our data networks, as well as a smaller part of server operations.

As a systems technician with a focus on networking, you will provide operational and user support/service within access networks, various communication solutions, as well as Wi-Fi and firewalls for our customers in different locations on Gotland. The work includes proactive monitoring and logging, troubleshooting and documentation, as well as maintaining and ensuring parts of server environments. The work also involves overall lifecycle planning and management within these areas. You will act during operational disturbances and propose and implement continuous improvements within your area of expertise.

With us, you will participate in various development projects within your field. It is also part of your daily work to conduct structured environmental monitoring, share your knowledge and experiences with your colleagues, and document ongoing work and solutions so that others can understand.

Your role includes participating and advising in work such as procurement and strategic technology choices. The position includes being part of our preparedness, which means you will participate in a rotation schedule to provide support to our customers outside regular working hours when needed.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with relevant education or equivalent experience in the field. You have worked with networks (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, WLAN) and communication for several years and have good experience with routing, switching, and wireless networks.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of IT security solutions and network operations, as well as support for large-scale and reliable environments, where you are welcome to provide examples in your application. It is also advantageous if you have certifications in ITIL and relevant networking technology/firewalls.

As a person, you have a great interest in IT and data communication and enjoy taking responsibility for staying updated in the technology field. Your ability to take initiative and work independently is therefore crucial. You are structured and quality-conscious, handling your tasks efficiently and carefully. You have good collaboration skills, and it is natural for you to share your knowledge and experience within the group to achieve common goals. You also feel comfortable leading meetings with colleagues or other stakeholders.

About the Regional Board Administration

As part of Region Gotland, the Regional Board Administration is responsible for corporate governance, strategic planning, and case preparation. We also work with regional development and cultural and recreational activities. We serve as internal support to the region's other administrations. Together, we care about quality and efficiency for those we serve. Through our responsibility for the rescue service in Gotland, we are also an important part of citizens' safety and security.
