The department provides education for nurses, radiology nurses, several programs for specialist nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, as well as a bachelor's degree in health guidance and psychology. Research and doctoral education are conducted within the subjects of occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing, and psychology. We are now looking for a PhD candidate in nursing.
Subject Description
Nursing focuses on areas aimed at improving people's health, preventing ill health and disease, as well as restoring and preserving health, alleviating suffering, and safeguarding human integrity and dignity. Central areas include the human being and health, environment, and nursing actions and processes related to these areas.
Project Description
The opportunities for specialist nursing students to learn and apply the ability to identify, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing for patients in acute care can present challenges. This is because students find themselves in a high-tech environment where they face ethical dilemmas, encounter patients with complex needs and severe medical conditions, where they may need to make prioritizations and difficult decisions under supervision. There is a demand for good nursing care and high medical competence. It is also crucial that students develop the ability for critical thinking and reflection. Therefore, there is a need to explore the nursing process in relation to students' learning within the specialist training programs for ambulance, anesthesia, intensive care, and surgical nursing. We are therefore now looking for a PhD candidate in nursing who is interested in working within a research project focusing on nursing and learning for specialist nursing students with a focus on ambulance, anesthesia, intensive care, and/or surgical nursing.
