Do you want to be part of Luleå's future development and be inspired by working in an organization with a strong focus on sustainability and the environment?

Lumire, Luleå Miljöresurs AB, is a municipal company for water and sewage, waste management, recycling, and reuse. Lumire is owned by Luleå Municipality and we are 220 employees who ensure that all Luleå residents have fresh and tasty drinking water in their taps and that waste and sewage are handled in a circular manner.

By coordinating water and waste issues within the same company, we are a strong player in sustainable environmental technology and community building.

Lumire is in an exciting development phase and is a key player in the work towards a green transition and a sustainable Luleå.

Luleå is facing extensive community development with large expansion plans, which presents many interesting challenges in the water and sewage sector. This work includes renewing and strengthening the existing water and sewage system as well as investigating and creating conditions for the expansion required for both industrial activities and residential development.

About the role

As a water and sewage engineer, you will work on water-related projects from early stages to completed facilities. In the early stages, this means being project responsible for investigating, evaluating, and proposing suitable methods and solutions. When the project then transitions into a design and execution/construction phase, you will participate as a technical manager and support to the project manager.

Depending on your interests and background, your tasks may include:

• Water, wastewater, and stormwater investigations with associated calculations and cost estimates

• Project and technical responsibility for various types of water and sewage projects

• Design and sizing of pump stations

• Renewal planning

• Wastewater modeling

You will work within Lumire's Development Section, which consists of 15 people. The section comprises an investigation group and a group responsible for connection issues.

At Lumire, we have a clear focus on innovation and technology development. We participate in a number of research projects and have a close collaboration with Luleå University of Technology. We are part of the research cluster Dag & Nät, the competence center Drizzle, and the strategic innovation program Water Wise Societies.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has curiosity and interest in new technology, innovative and sustainable solutions. Your personality has a strong drive which means you take your own initiatives to achieve results. You have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.

You have a technical university degree applicable to our operations, or other education/experience deemed equivalent.

Experience in land planning in multidisciplinary projects or design of pipeline and pump systems as an investigator or designer may be a suitable background. Knowledge in the water and sewage area is meritorious, preferably with previous experience in municipal water and sewage operations or project-based work as a consultant, client, or contractor.

Good communication is central to your assignment and the work includes delivering written reports and other documentation. Therefore, it is a requirement that you can express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

Good computer skills are required and experience with AutoCAD and modeling programs is meritorious.

A valid driver's license is required as you need to be able to transport yourself by car for work purposes.

We offer you

We offer you an exciting, challenging, interesting, and fun job where you will be involved in the development of a sustainable Luleå.

We care about a long-term sustainable work life and strive to create conditions for a good balance between work and leisure. With us, it is important that you develop, thrive, feel good, and experience job satisfaction.

Do you want to become an environmental resource?

Then you will thrive at Lumire. As an employee with us, you work with some of society's most significant functions: clean drinking water, and sustainable waste and sewage management. What we do matters today and in the future.
