Operations Technician for Pump Stations

Your Upcoming Role

As an operations technician for our pump stations, you play an important role in being responsible for monitoring the operations of the pump stations' various functions together with your colleagues. Your tasks include:

• monitoring the various functions of the pump stations, a job that takes place both through monitoring via our control system and on-site
• being responsible for addressing faults and problems in operations
• reporting in the maintenance system IDUS
• working with VA SYD's program for continuous improvements, quality improvements, and instructions
• contributing to the development of the unit's working methods
• once you are comfortable, joining VA SYD's emergency response team

As an operations technician, you belong organizationally to the Wastewater unit, which works with VA SYD's pipeline network and pump stations. With new powerful goals and increased digitalization, we expect to be able to manage our facilities more proactively in the future. The wastewater unit distributes wastewater and stormwater within VA SYD's six member municipalities and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sewage pipeline network along with the associated facilities needed to distribute wastewater from customers to the treatment plants.

Your Experience

We are looking for you who have:

• post-secondary operations technician education or equivalent work experience from water and wastewater operations, process industry, or equivalent
• experience working with process control systems and maintenance systems, as well as knowledge and understanding of pump control
• a B driver's license as driving in service occurs
• good computer and system skills

It is an advantage if you have work experience in the water and wastewater field and good knowledge of how water and wastewater facilities function in practice.
