Operations Leader at the Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Command (FMTIS)

About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Command (FMTIS) is responsible for the technical command system structure of the Armed Forces. FMTIS is tasked with managing, leading, and executing the operation and maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems. The FMTIS Staff supports the unit commander in leading and managing the unit. The announced positions as operations leaders are permanent positions located at FMTIS STAB J3, the execution department. The work at the execution department includes responsibility for planning and leading operations, activities in the short and medium term, as well as the unit's production. J3 also maintains FMTIS VB service with schedule planning and staffing.

Main Responsibilities

As an Operations Leader at FMTIS STAB J3, you operate at the tactical and operational level with coordination and follow-up of the unit's operational and execution activities. The daily operations include the following tasks:

  • lead command teams in various areas; including FM command support systems, order work, reviews, and follow-up of the unit's activities
  • lead or participate in working groups in both operational and production-related areas
  • lead order issuances and situation briefings
  • carry out planning and development of activities within the department and the unit
  • serve as duty officer outside regular working hours (H24) according to a rotating schedule
  • participate as a representative at internal and external meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Swedish citizenship
  • You have an officer/specialist officer degree and are OF 1-3/ OR 6-8
  • You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • You have very good IT skills
  • Driver's license at least for passenger car (B, manual transmission)

  • You have a good ability to see the big picture, prioritize, and take initiative based on the needs of the organization
  • You are relationship-building, clear in your communication, and have a good ability to build trust and collaborate with others
  • You are driven, can take your own initiative, and work towards development and improvement within your area of responsibility
  • The work is independent with a great deal of personal responsibility where you lead the operations and have a large number of personal contacts

DESIRABLE

  • Experience serving at the tactical and operational level
  • Experience and knowledge of the Armed Forces' command support systems, e.g., ISUS and SWECCIS
  • Trained command system officer or experience from similar service

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority. Employment rate: 100%. Work location: By agreement, but service will primarily be from Örebro. Business trips, both day and overnight trips, occur. Position: Military. Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement.
