The Viscaria mine in Kiruna is an important building block in the effort to increase Sweden's and the EU's self-sufficiency in critical minerals. With a high copper content in assessed mineral resources and reserves, a strategic geographical location, and a growing team of experts, Viscaria has good prospects for delivering high-quality copper – with strict environmental and sustainability requirements. Through mining using modern techniques, sophisticated logistics, and innovative water treatment, Viscaria aims to become one of the world's most sustainable producers of copper and iron.

Your Role

We are now looking for an environmental or development engineer, or someone with equivalent environmental science competence, who can work both strategically and operationally to ensure that the business meets applicable environmental conditions and requirements.

The work includes both office tasks and fieldwork, focusing on Viscaria's self-monitoring program and environmental reporting, as well as working with investigation conditions. The main tasks include investigative work related to the postponed issues and the provisional regulations arising from Viscaria's environmental permits.

You will also support ongoing environmental monitoring and work with follow-up and reporting of Viscaria's self-monitoring program. You are also expected to actively participate in working groups and development projects, where you contribute your expertise and environmental knowledge.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic background in environmental science, chemical engineering, natural resource engineering, or a related field.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Experience in environmental work within the mining or process industry
• Knowledge of water environmental issues
• Competence in GIS

We also expect you to have a valid driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
