We are now looking for an ophthalmic nurse for our eye clinic in Uppsala. At the clinic, we work with everything from private vision correction surgeries, refractive surgery, and public eye care on behalf of Region Uppsala. Within eye care, we offer eye consultations for children and adults, orthoptics, cataract surgeries, outpatient surgeries, and fundus photography for diabetes. You will be part of a close-knit team with high engagement and a strong focus on all patients who visit the clinic daily.

Responsibilities

As an ophthalmic nurse at the clinic in Uppsala, you will have a varied role focused on assisting in surgeries.

Other responsibilities include:

• Welcoming patients at the clinic
• Working with telephone consultations
• Managing referrals, planning, and bookings
• Preparing patients for consultations
• Possible own consultations depending on previous experience

Who you are

We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialist competence in ophthalmology and a few years of work experience in the field and in surgery.

The position requires good collaboration skills and a high degree of independence, and we expect you to contribute with high quality and prioritize patient safety. We believe you are quick to learn new things, open to new working methods, and enjoy change. You value good collaboration and high engagement; words that reflect you as a person are secure and action-oriented.

Location: Uppsala

Extent: Full-time, Monday to Friday. Other working hours can be discussed

Employment type: Permanent employment, starting with a six-month probationary period
