About the Role

We are looking for an engaged person to support our group manager by operationally prioritizing and distributing daily tasks to achieve our goals in areas such as safety, work environment, quality, and productivity. In this position, you will take leadership, engage employees, and organize tasks within our operations at our terminal in Arendal.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and distribute daily work within the cross-dock department to ensure an efficient flow of goods.
• Introduce, support, and train new employees in work routines and safety regulations.
• Ensure that deliveries are handled according to agreed times and quality requirements.
• Maintain an active dialogue with other departments to create smooth collaboration and serious goods flow.
• Identify areas for improvement in work methods and routines and suggest solutions to the department management.
• Report deficiencies in equipment, work environment, or safety and contribute to taking action.
• Participate in the department's improvement work focusing on quality, safety, and productivity.
• Support the team operationally as needed and contribute to a good work environment.
• Stay updated on applicable routines, agreements, and customer requirements.
• Handle simpler administration related to operations in relevant systems.
• The position starts with a 6-month probationary period with good opportunities for permanent employment at DFDS Logistics Contracts. 

Your Profile

We are looking for a proactive and structured individual interested in logistics, efficiency improvements, and personnel development. You have a clear and direct communication style while maintaining focus on important details when seeing the bigger picture. 

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience in forklift driving.
• Relevant experience from terminal work.
• Previous experience in team leadership.
• Engaged, attentive, and humble individual.
• Motivated to drive development and improvement.
• Experience with personnel responsibility.
• Responsible and self-driven.
• Personal suitability is of utmost importance to us.
