Summer Internship as a Reporter at Piteå-Tidningen

Piteå-Tidningen is the dominant news medium in Pite Älvdal. We cover Piteå, Älvsbyn, Arjeplog, and Arvidsjaur. A summer internship at our central editorial office in Piteå offers varied assignments, a chance to be creative with your own ideas, and a place at the center of events.

Piteå is a vibrant summer city with many different events, such as the large football tournament and folk festival Piteå Summer Games and the festival Piteå dansar och ler.

As a reporter, you will have the opportunity to help spread knowledge, information, and scrutinize important societal issues that our readers will engage with. In this role, you will work broadly as a news journalist. We are also looking for reporters with sports expertise who are ready to cover everything from football, running, to personal life stories related to the world of sports.

Your main task as a reporter will be to come up with ideas, write articles and reports, and take photos for these. You will also get to live report, film, and edit video material for our site and social media. We work with a digital focus and clear goals where readers are always at the center, and therefore we appreciate if you are skilled at packaging your own material. We offer you an independent work environment and highly value your own idea generation.

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment and interest in local journalism and a passion for telling stories that affect people's everyday lives. You are curious, flexible, can immerse yourself in new issues, and actively work to ensure that your publications capture readers' interest. You are creative and come up with your own ideas, and you are stylistically skilled. You have a good ability to make contacts and build trust with both interview subjects and our readers.

The internship may involve working hours during the day, evenings, and weekends.

A valid driver's license (B) is required as driving is part of the job.
