Healthcare Assistant to Anesthesia in Gävle

The Anesthesia department has about 450 employees and works with high-quality anesthesia, surgery, intensive, and recovery care. The department also includes a pain center and sterilization unit. With operations in both Gävle and Hudiksvall, we provide service to all surgical operations within Region Gävleborg and carry out both planned and emergency measures by staff specialized in An-Op-IVA. The central operation in Gävle performs about 7000 surgeries per year.

We are now looking for two healthcare assistants who want to contribute to high-quality care in one of Sweden's most modern operating departments!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a healthcare assistant, you play an important role in making the whole operation work. With varying tasks, you will work closely with our surgical and anesthesia nurses as your duties will be on both the anesthesia and surgical sides. The work in the operating room is a team effort where all professional categories together in their different roles meet the patient's needs.

As a healthcare assistant with us, you will, among other things:

• work with preparations before and after surgery in collaboration with the surgical and anesthesia nurses
• assist with various tasks around the patient during surgery.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience working as a healthcare assistant in an operating department or other emergency services.

Information about the title healthcare assistant

As of July 1, 2023, the title healthcare assistant will become a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title healthcare assistant within health and care.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than healthcare assistant. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until your certificate is submitted.
