The producer at Dalateatern serves as the link between production and management, providing the production team with the conditions to achieve the best possible results within given frameworks. Do you want to work on planning, structuring, and contributing to the theater's productions, co-productions, and other projects to achieve the best possible outcomes? Dalateatern is looking for a full-time producer starting from May 26, 2025.

About the position

Based on given financial and technical resource frameworks, you will plan, implement, and drive productions from start to finish, which also means selling and touring the assigned production. You will participate in the establishment of production documents, be responsible for the production budget, and act as the spider in the web of production. Your work will be led by the production manager, but you will also collaborate with management, the production department, the technical department, and workshops. In the role of producer, some supervisory responsibilities are included, but not personnel management.

Being clear, enthusiastic, driven, and solution-oriented are important prerequisites for succeeding in this role, as well as the ability to analyze and translate information and communication from multiple sources into practical work tools, based on the organization's frameworks and resources.

As a Producer at Dalateatern, you will among other things:

• be responsible for production management of individual productions based on the theater management's production decisions and in consultation with other functions at the theater. This often involves multiple parallel processes with several productions and projects at different stages simultaneously, requiring good structure and multitasking ability.
• create and share weekly/monthly schedules for performance-bound staff
• in collaboration with the production manager and technical manager, be responsible for priorities in the production budget
• convene and lead regular pre- and production meetings
• monitor the external environment and propose guest performances for purchase to Dalateatern
• sell and tour productions

We are looking for someone who has:

• relevant education and/or work experience as a producer at a producing performing arts institution or independent group.
• experience in handling contracts within the performing arts field
• experience in formal or informal leadership
• experience in budget and follow-up work
• administrative skills, good overview, and creative problem-solving abilities
• the ability to work independently and with good collaboration skills
• the ability to take personal responsibility and initiative in the work
• an understanding of both the artistic process and the need for practical management

We would also like you to have:

• experience with planning tools, such as Theatron
• good knowledge of the National Agreement for institutional theaters
