Gardener at Sofiero Castle and Castle Garden

Sofiero Castle and Castle Garden is one of northwestern Skåne's largest attractions with about 250,000 visitors and the garden of the people of Helsingborg. Caring for and developing our unique cultural and garden heritage is a core part of our mission, as is creating memorable visitor experiences through garden, culture, history, food, and events.

In preparation for the upcoming gardening season, we are strengthening our gardening team.

You will be part of a workgroup of just over ten employees with various experiences, skills, and a strong commitment to our castle garden. We often work at a fast pace and with varied tasks. Job satisfaction, quality, and service are important guiding principles in our teamwork and for ensuring our visitors have a memorable experience.

Your mission as a gardener

As a gardener at Sofiero, your main task is the care and maintenance of our beautiful castle park. The maintenance includes weeding flower beds and paths, watering urns, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, edging, planting spring and summer flowers, cleaning, tying up, etc. The work is at times very physically demanding.

Another part of the tasks is interacting with our visitors in the park and conveying knowledge and information to them. You are an important part of our guests' experience and for Sofiero as a destination.

Your skills and experiences

We are looking for someone with previous experience in similar tasks.

As a person, you are outgoing and can adapt your approach based on the guests you meet in your work. You enjoy a wide variety of tasks depending on the season, but which can also be repetitive during shorter periods.

You have the ability to balance independent work and your initiative with performing planned tasks together with colleagues. You are communicative and attentive, making collaborations work.

If you have in-depth experience/competence in any area of the profession, please mention it in your application, such as a specific plant species, cultivation, pruning, landscaping, irrigation, composting, or machinery responsibility, to name a few examples.

This is an opportunity for you if you have:

• Work experience in park and garden work
• Familiarity with garden hand tools and machinery
• Good physical condition
• At least an AM driver's license

We would also like you to have:

• Trained as a gardener or equivalent
• Experience with gardening vehicles, such as tool carriers and tractors
• Certification for wheel loaders
• Experience in landscape gardening

Our offer and worth knowing

The position is a seasonal employment where weekend work occurs during our peak season, approximately every sixth weekend. Start date in early March or by agreement.
