Operations Manager for the Red Cross in Uppsala

Uppsala Red Cross District

The Uppsala Red Cross District is one of the largest local Red Cross associations in Sweden. We have over 3,000 members and run around 30 different activities with approximately 1,000 volunteers. Among the most extensive activities are the International Meeting Point and a second-hand shop. About fifteen employees provide support for volunteer work and to ensure continuity in operations. Our efforts are mainly directed towards the local community. The district is led by a board, and the operations manager is responsible, on behalf of the board, for the district's operational activities.

The Role of Operations Manager

We are looking for an experienced manager and leader who can create engagement, stability, and development within the Uppsala district. As the operations manager for the Uppsala district, you will lead and develop our activities to make a positive and lasting impact in the local community. You share the Red Cross's values and ensure that they permeate everything we do. You plan, follow up, and ensure that our efforts maintain high quality and provide valuable support to vulnerable groups.

You represent the Red Cross in external contexts and develop collaborations with municipalities, regions, businesses, and other organizations to strengthen and secure the financing of operations in the long term. By creating an inspiring work culture, you make employees and volunteers feel engaged and involved in the Red Cross mission.

With a close and development-oriented leadership, you identify opportunities for improvement and work to meet the changing needs of society, even during periods of transition and crisis.

You report to the Uppsala district's board and follow up on the operations' goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership within the non-profit sector or another relevant field with documented responsibility for personnel, finances, and operations.
• University education, preferably in leadership, HR, administration, and/or social issues.
• Excellent command of Swedish and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in working with migration, integration, and diversity issues
• Experience from the non-profit sector
• Experience in business-like operations
• Language skills in addition to Swedish and English
