Shift Leader at O’Learys Linköping

About the position: We are now looking for an experienced and dedicated shift leader who wants to be part of driving the success of O’Learys Linköping. The role involves supporting the restaurant manager by leading the staff during shifts, assisting as needed, and ensuring the quality of all aspects of the business including service, bar, kitchen, and activities. The role also includes ensuring that all routines and manuals are followed to guarantee a positive guest experience. You work hands-on in the operation, are flexible, and work where needed, such as in service, as a bartender, or as an activities manager.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the restaurant manager by leading the staff during your shift and ensuring the efficient operation of the business including service, bar, kitchen, activities, premises, guests, etc.
• Ensure that checklists are followed and checked during shifts + signed by you as the shift leader
• Plan and prepare the premises and staff for upcoming bookings, including table arrangements and staffing planning
• Coach and ensure the quality of the staff in all business areas during shifts
• Be responsible for sound, image, and music throughout the premises and that the correct sports broadcasts are shown on the screens
• Actively work in the operation and be flexible, performing tasks such as service, bartender, or activities manager as needed
• Ensure functioning cash systems, payment terminals, and other technology during operation
• Be responsible for solving and managing any problems that arise during operation and involve relevant parties as needed
• Be responsible for guest satisfaction and compensation during shifts
• Ensure that opening and closing routines are followed if the restaurant manager is not present
• Handle phone calls and bookings and ensure correct cash registers and daily closures in the absence of the restaurant manager
• Report deviations, conduct training, be responsible for guest well-being, determine staff breaks, and if necessary send staff home if the restaurant manager is not present

Desired experience and qualities:

• Experience as a shift leader/area manager in a restaurant/bar and have good cash handling skills
• Worked as a bartender and in service for several years
• Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and have good knowledge of English
• Natural leader, problem solver, relationship builder, and possess strong project management skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
