About the job

Work as a laboratory animal technician involves work in basic and advanced laboratory animal activities. The tasks include daily supervision and care of the animals, cage changes, cleaning of animal areas, handling animal deliveries, and record-keeping for the animal species provided by CBR - rodents, zebrafish, clawed frogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and poultry. The work is carried out with consideration for animal welfare and in accordance with ethical and hygienic routines.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a great interest in animals and is responsible and service-oriented. You have the ability to independently plan and perform tasks and the ability to communicate and collaborate with technician colleagues and employees in research teams. Great emphasis will be placed on personal abilities and skills.

Your workplace

CBR is a LiU Core unit with overall responsibility for all laboratory animal facilities at Linköping University. The goal of CBR is to proactively participate in the planning and implementation of animal experiments in a responsible manner according to the 3R principle (Reduce, Refine, Replace), and that all work with animals is carried out under conditions that meet the requirements for a good working environment for animal care and research personnel. At CBR, 12 animal technicians work together with a veterinarian, administrative staff, and the center manager in modern facilities with the aim of providing animals and researchers with the best conditions for conducting research and education of the highest quality.

About the position

We are looking for several technicians, partly for permanent positions and partly for various fixed-term assignments. Entry by agreement.
