Job Responsibilities

As a drifting engineer at Lovö Waterworks, you will have the operational responsibility to ensure the production of drinking water in terms of quantity and quality during your shift. You will be part of our skilled team of four drifting engineers, where both independent work and collaboration are central. Your tasks will include operating the plant, troubleshooting and handling process equipment, preventive measures and problem solving, as well as identifying improvement opportunities to constantly develop both the facility and our operations.

The drifting engineer is responsible for actively contributing to the operation and development of Lovö Waterworks by:

  • Operationally optimizing the plant's production based on current circumstances.
  • Taking a cohesive responsibility for the operation and planning and coordination before shutdowns and start-ups.
  • Controlling the process both in control room control systems and locally in the facility.
  • Conducting systematic troubleshooting in control systems and in the physical plant with relevant action planning.
  • Issuing work permits and work preparations.
  • Ensuring that the necessary process chemicals are available for undisturbed operation.
  • Ensuring that the logbook is kept up to date and that important events are documented.
  • Initiating and reporting the plant's work orders in our API system.
  • Initiating, managing, and investigating operational deviations and occupational safety incidents.
  • Writing and updating operating instructions.
  • Contributing to and participating in development and project work as well as planning of investment and maintenance measures.

The work is, as the position indicates, in shifts. At Lovö Waterworks, we have a 2-shift model; morning and afternoon shifts including daytime. Flextime can be used within certain time frames during daytime shifts if the operation allows.

The position includes on-call duty, and to meet the response time, you need to live near the plant. A private car is required to manage the shift schedules.

Qualifications

You have a good ability to analyze the balance in the production process and feel confident in making decisions independently under time pressure. You are proactive, work proactively, and always prioritize safe work methods, both in terms of following established routines and when the situation requires escalation and intervention. Additionally, you enjoy continuous improvements and have a good technical background. As a person, you are stress-resistant, humble, enjoy having many points of contact, are communicative, and find it easy to collaborate with others.

To succeed in the role, you have the following competencies:

  • University education with a suitable focus on the position, or high school education with several years of experience in process and production. Previous work at waterworks is advantageous.
  • Experience working with production control systems and process equipment.
  • Ability to handle rapid process changes.
  • Experience and interest in change/improvement work.
  • Good administrative and IT skills.
  • Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
  • Driver's license B.

In your position, you will work with classified information. Security clearance and registry checks will therefore be conducted in connection with employment. You must be a Swedish citizen. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
