The recycling department consists of 20 employees divided into administration, facilities, and collection. The department is responsible for collecting household waste, hazardous waste, latrine, and operating our recycling centers. Organizationally, the unit is part of the Water and Waste department, which is part of the Technical Administration.

The administration consists of approximately 200 employees in the departments of Public Environment, Water and Waste, and the service department. We are responsible for ensuring the municipality's traffic environment is safe and accessible, and that children, youth, and the elderly receive nutritious meals at the municipality's preschools, schools, and special accommodations. We are also responsible for ensuring Kristinehamn residents have access to clean, fresh, and good water in the tap and are responsible for the strategic local planning. Likewise, we are responsible for the municipality's waste collection and recycling.

Job Responsibilities

As a Team Leader for waste collection, you contribute operationally to the unit's work and participate in and lead various projects for the unit.

The team leader's role is to lead and distribute the daily work of the unit in close collaboration with the Operations Manager. The team leader is responsible for the work environment of the unit but has no direct personnel responsibility.

The team leader's mission includes, among other things, to:

Be responsible for the daily operation of the business.
Assist in operational work when needed.
Be responsible for vehicles, machinery, and equipment and ensure that they are kept in good condition.
Handle sick leave and return to work notifications.
Ensure that substitutes are available when needed.
Participate in scheduling at the unit, for example, during vacations and on-call duty.
Participate in and, in some cases, lead various projects.
Drive improvement work within given project and budget frameworks.
Be responsible for inventory management and ordering of food waste bags, bins, and containers in consultation with the Operations Manager.

You will also work closely with customer service and assist them with questions and concerns about customer solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with previous experience working on waste and recycling issues, or similar tasks.

You need to have at least a high school education, and it is a merit if you have previously worked in a similar role or another form of leadership position.

You are a quality-conscious, independent, and clear leader who shows great flexibility in work towards colleagues, customers, and partners. We want you to have the ability to create an overall picture of the business and to see the economic benefit in streamlining work processes without compromising quality.

A C driver's license is a requirement for the position.
