ABOUT THE WORKPLACE

The Community Building Administration is responsible for streets, water, sewage, waste management, parks, burial services, and meal services. As an employee within our administration, you have the opportunity to develop and make a difference for the city's current and future residents. Our operations are in constant development to shape the future of Tranås.

The Project Department is the internal technical consulting group of the Community Building Administration and is responsible for the area of technical and infrastructure projects. The department manages Tranås municipality's land and construction projects within new development areas, streets and roads, pedestrian and bicycle paths, water and sewage lines, stormwater facilities, parks, and public spaces. We also work as a support resource for the administration's permit-required activities to ensure that the environmental work of the operations meets the environmental requirements set by the permitting authority.

Tranås municipality currently has a young mapping and measurement department that started in May 2022. It currently consists of two happy employees with extensive experience who are looking for a third to share tasks with.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Tranås municipality is in the midst of a comprehensive digitization process with a primary focus on Street, Park, and Cemetery operations. There is a large amount of measurement data to capture from reality, and therefore we are looking for someone who has just started their journey in the measurement and mapping field.

As a survey technician, you are a resource for the administration. This includes everything from simple measurements of gravel roads, playgrounds, burial sites, inventory of trees, manhole covers, etc., to complete mapping of, for example, industrial sites, natural areas, project documentation, etc. You are responsible for the entire process from measurement to finished documentation for our various maps.

We work with programs such as the Geosecma package (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, FieldMaps, Geoportal, etc.), AutoCAD Civil 3D, QGIS, SBG Geo, BlueBeam, and Skymap.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a recent graduate survey technician or has at least two years of experience in the field that the employer deems equivalent. Previous experience in municipal administration, knowledge of street, cemetery, park, and water and sewage project measurements is an advantage. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
