We are looking for

The Department of Caring Science sees a need for increased administrative and clinical support and is therefore looking for an administrator with a background as a nursing assistant or caregiver. The position is a fixed-term employment for one year with a workload of 50%.

Content and tasks

As an administrator at the Department of Caring Science, you will work independently but in close collaboration with those responsible for both practical and theoretical education, both within the university and in healthcare. Your immediate formal supervisor is the administrative manager at the faculty, but the work is led and distributed by an associate head of department at the institution.

You will be one of two administrators at the department who collaborate in the work, which is primarily divided into two main areas: the more practically oriented administrative support at the Clinical Training Center (KTC) and the coordinating work around students' clinical placements (VFU).

At KTC, you will work closely with teachers and provide support in teaching situations. In connection with method exercises, you will be responsible for ensuring that facilities and materials are in order, setting up and putting away equipment, and ensuring that consumables are ordered. You may also participate in teaching, for example, by acting as a nursing assistant or caregiver in practical moments. Since some teaching moments or self-study occur in the evening, working hours may occasionally be scheduled for evenings.

Within VFU coordination, you will work on ordering clinical placements from various healthcare providers that the university has agreements with and placing students at these sites. The work is primarily conducted via a digital VFU system and in close collaboration with program directors and colleagues within the VFU organization. You will have ongoing contact with students and serve as a support in questions regarding their clinical placements. The work may also involve contact with healthcare providers, especially when clarifications or practical agreements are needed. If changes, special requests, or other challenges arise – such as illness, change of placement, or questions about supervision or documentation – you will coordinate solutions in dialogue with both the student and the receiving organization. Thus, you will serve as an important contact link between students, the department, and healthcare providers.

The tasks mentioned above are examples and may change over time.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school education who has worked as a nursing assistant or caregiver. Experience in administration and service is an advantage, especially if this experience is from a college or university environment. It is also advantageous if you have taken courses at a university or college and thereby have some knowledge and understanding of the field.

To succeed in this role, you need to have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, and it is a requirement that you are fluent in Swedish.

To thrive in the role, you should be able to take independent responsibility for your tasks, have an interest in administrative work, and possess a pronounced service mindset focused on meeting the demands and conditions of the organization. You also need to have good communication and collaboration skills and be able to handle periods of high workload and varying tasks. It is important that you can take initiative, show judgment in different situations, and contribute to finding effective solutions in daily work. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Workplace

The Department of Caring Science is part of the Faculty of Health and Society and conducts education and research in the main area of nursing. The overarching research environment at the department focuses on equitable health and care. The educational offerings include programs such as nursing and specialist nursing, where clinical placements (VFU) are an important part. The department also conducts doctoral education.
