Are you ready to contribute to an exciting and developing teaching assignment at Kungsgårdsgymnasiet's vocational program? We are looking for a skilled and driven high school teacher in English and History for a temporary position during the school year 25/26!

Who are we?

At Kungsgårdsgymnasiet, we shape the workforce of the future and stimulate about 650 students to develop creativity and entrepreneurship. The school is run by three school leaders and about 80 staff members. Kungsgårdsgymnasiet offers education within the programs EK, RL, HV/FR, IM, and Adapted upper secondary school in hotel, restaurant, and bakery.

In the educational office's activities, we focus on the development and learning of children and young people. We view the individual from a 1-20 year perspective and base our work on the individual conditions and needs of children and young people. Every child and student succeeds and gets a good start in developing lifelong learning.

We achieve this together through successful teaching, high expectations of ourselves and each other, respectful relationships, and a safe working environment.

Your Responsibilities

Your workplace and team affiliation are located in Ståhlboms Kvarn. The team in the Hairdressing and Stylist program consists of 6-8 people and is a mix of vocational teachers and teachers in common subjects.

Together, you will create a holistic learning experience and guide students towards graduation and employability. The teaching assignment includes mentorship for a class together with a colleague. Teachers and student health staff work closely together with short communication paths for the benefit of the students.

As a teacher at Kungsgård, you teach with pedagogical skill and a strong focus on strengthening students' self-confidence, learning, and goal achievement. You are a role model and a natural partner for colleagues, encouraging others and contributing to the collaborative learning of the entire team.

The assignment involves teaching English and History in the Hairdressing and Stylist program as well as the Restaurant and Food program. You are responsible for teaching and results in your courses and actively participate in developing methods and/or maintaining favorable routines that lead to improved student learning. You work collectively to create good conditions for our students from a holistic perspective on learning.

Our students should feel included, seen, and challenged. We continuously work on mapping and evaluating teaching as a natural part of our systematic quality work. This requires trust and transparency within the team, and a willingness to contribute to development and a genuine collaborative climate.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a teaching license in English and History for high school education. You have experience successfully leading learning processes for students in vocational programs.

You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents. If you have experience working with international projects such as Erasmus or have international contacts or skills that can concretely contribute to the development of the project, that is of interest to us.

As a person, one of your greatest strengths is planning and organizing teaching in a way that motivates students and increases their confidence in their abilities, leading to their development and success. You are skilled at adapting and varying your approach based on needs and situations.

You have a good ability to motivate students in their learning and communicate positively and professionally about their development. You believe in the student and actively demonstrate this in every interaction and decision.

Creating teaching contexts linked to students' graduation goals and the overarching narrative of the education is natural for you, and you have a very good ability to collaborate with teachers and other staff across team boundaries. Working with and independently exploring digital technology is not a barrier for you.

You are systematic, document in our systems, and fulfill your assignments. You are resilient under stress and can easily handle changes that occur in your work. You are also expected to continuously improve your knowledge in pedagogy and didactics. We are looking for someone who is a good role model, spreads joy, and has the ability to uplift others!
