About the Job

Currently, 15 students are enrolled in adapted adult education. The education is provided in the school's facilities in the harbor area of Hönö Klåva. The majority of the students study at a basic level and are taught in both small groups and individually. You will work with a colleague to organize and conduct teaching for this target group. We are a dedicated team focused on the students.

Job Description

You will work as a teacher covering all subjects and areas within adapted adult education. As a teacher, you are responsible for ensuring that the teaching is based on applicable curricula and governing documents together with a colleague. You will share responsibility for planning, scheduling, and lesson content, working closely together in a small school unit.

You will create good collaboration with other actors around the students, such as daily activities and the students' support accommodations. Additionally, you will participate in the school's development work. You will collaborate closely with other functions within adult education, such as study and career counselors and the principal.

Your Background

We are looking for a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. Experience with adults with intellectual disabilities is an advantage. If you are a primary or secondary school teacher with experience from adapted schools, you are also welcome to apply.

We prefer that you master alternative communication methods (AAC/TAAC) and use visual support in your teaching. You are comfortable with digital learning tools.

We seek someone who is engaged and willing to create good pedagogical learning environments for this target group. You are well acquainted with the operational governing documents and analyze, evaluate, and develop the operations based on the students' conditions and needs. You have the ability to individualize and base your teaching on each student's previous experiences, needs, conditions, and goals.
